Default starter cable, wire

i changed the starter wire that runs from my starter to the positive of the battery when connect both neg. and pos. it sparks what could the problem be?

you sure the wire you just changed is not grounding itself out somewhere?

usually it will spark for a second when you touch positive wire

i took the starter off and found out that it was the bolt that goes to pos. was not staying up and it was grounding it self
