alternative to adjustable cam sprockets
what do you guys think about using some sort of degree wheel and a reference point to set/adjust your cam timing w/out the need of aftermarket gears?
How do you plan on altering the cam timing without adjustable sprockets? The only method of adjustment you'd have using the stock sprockets would be moving them an entire tooth on the timing belt, which obviously wouldn't be ideal.
i recall adjusting my valves and rechecking them, the piston 1 exhaust clearance was too tight after rechecking. double checked tdc marks and they were dead on, tugged the t/b a bit and rechecked clearance and they fell into specs. tdc marks did not change
i figure the timing belt has enough slack/elasticity for a couple of degrees without actually skipping a tooth.
off topic
the p/s kit i got from you works great, i had only one issue. the "t" fitting tends to crimp the hose, swapped it out for a "y" fitting and it's a lot better. just thought i'd share

I heard from a crazy motorcycle builder that he would adjust his cam timing by making the notches on the cam gears where the key would go wider than stock, giving him a couple degrees to tweak. Sounds daring if you ask me!

thats kinda the way we used to do it on our jr dragster. but it was an offset key.
