All cable YS1 housings all the same?
I am buying a 2001 ITR 4.7 LSD tranny this week.
I wish to swap it into a YS1 housing and stay cable.
I don't want to waste time and money, or get ripped off.
The threads and writeups I found on this subject say you MUST use a 92-93 ys1 housing.
My question is, how can I verify im buying a cable housing that will work, and do the LS YS1's also work for this swap?
Were the fundamental changes made in 1992 that render PRE 1991 LS tranny housing useless to me in my goal here?
My thinking is I can use the cable LS 5th for better gas mileage, and have the close ratio 1-4 with LSD and the 4.7 FD.
Also, once performed do I still purchase a clutch/flywheel for a 1991 integra?
Excuse the noobness of this question, but I don't want to waste money/time.
I'm also weighing the option of using the innovative hydro conversion and just leaving the ITR tranny alone. But its meant to mount to the front crossmember, which i switched for a tubular one.
Thanks.
