are all b series piston rings the same?
i have a set of pct pistons, i was wondering if all b series piston rings are the same. i checked a couple of dealers and they have different part #'s and different prices for different b series motor (for the rings that is).
TIA

Actually they may be differnt since not all the B series engine put out the same compression. The type R engines may have better piston rings(more expensive)
since the compression they make is higher and will put more pressure on the rings.

i should have asked all b series with the same bore, which is i what i meant. my main concern is would a set of rings from a b16a (Si motor) could be used in a b16b (ctr) pistons. they should right? same size bore even same displacement, sort of.
My knowledge of all b series is somewhat limited but I just got done installing a new set of J&E rings in my b18C. infact, I just now walked into the house after starting it for the first time. Biggest job I've ever tackled, I was totally scared to start it but it went ok. anyway back to your question I originally bought factory rings but they were too small since the previous owner had a .020 overbore done and I didn't know it. So I had to order the J&E's. The factory ones would have worked perfectly, they were just .020 too short.
