Default Air filter with no intake hose

Im new too the whole car scene, so I just learned that people can put individual throttle bodies on engines, seemed interesting. What I wanna know is if anyone has just ran one throttle body with just the Airfilter to get rid of the intake hose/line/tube to clean up the engine bay alittle bit. Something like this pic i took.

This question is just pure curiosity.

Thanks.

It has been done... the filter being directly mounted on the throttle body inlet causes significant turbulence and reduces air flow into the engine. To minimize this issue, a tube of at least 8" long between the T/B and the filter is necessary.

So you now get to decide: Pretty or Power ???

just run a typical intake pipe. Those stubby filters look so RICE.

Extra noise equals faster acceleration.
