Default --Air Cond. woes, please help--

When I go to turn the Air con on, sometimes it stays on and others it doesn't.
It will kick in then turn off again though

Has anyone ever had this problem or does anyone know what the problem is?

I ordered the fan switch by the climate control as a few people said thats what it could be.

When I slide the dial to 1, 2 or 3 the blower motor works, but the condensor fan and compressor does not. Its either both on or nothing, just the blower motor.

Also does anyone know where the Thermo Switch is or the AC Pressure Switch?
They both have the same colour wires going in and out, tested them but both are on resistors.

Thankyou.

check the refrigerant charge. if you have a leak it's going off on low pressure. if the condenser is dirty it's going off on hi-pressure. do you see signs of oil on piping? i dunno where the ac pressure and thermo switches are? i don't have ac in the hatch.

The pressure is normal, not high or low, and no oil around piping.

what's your pressure? once you find the dual pressure switch pull off the connector and jumper it out. if the comp/cond fan energize the pressure switch is bad. what car are we dealing with?

Its a 95 Civic CX, is the dual pressure switch underneath the 2 relays for the compressor and condensor fan?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Arsenal &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Its a 95 Civic CX, is the dual pressure switch underneath the 2 relays for the compressor and condensor fan?</TD></TR></TABLE>

from the right side of vehicle, follow the bottom refrigerant line until you see the dual presssure switch. it's in the vicinity of the battery.

Okay, replaced the switch inside the climate control part, no change.

However,

I switched the 2 relays around and they are fine,

So, got a test light, attached it to the chassis for a ground and went searching.

Under the 2 relays there is a plug which has 2 wires going into, a blue/red and a yellow, just above the compressor. Now when I turn the AC on, if i put the tester into the blue wire slot the compressor kicks in, but the fan does not, so if this is the case, can I just wire a switch to the condensor fan and this blue/red wire, and whenever I want the AC on just flick the 2 switches?
