Default Aftermarket cat convert. question.

I put a high flow cat on my 04 si and came up with this code P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold from the diagnostic machine. I had the car reset because the engine light came on, and now the light is off and has been ever since. My question is this. When you put an aftermarket race cat on your car do you need to buy some type of aftermarket sensor for it or can you somehow have the computer reprogramed to accept the diff. air/fuel ratios? Maybe a chip to help the ECU? The car has readiness codes and I guess the cat has the system clearing that particular code because its not meeting the stock requirments. Thanks in advance for any advice/insight/experience.
