Well I just got done putting in a new oil pump due to having no vtec, and a check engine light for low oil pressure. This is in a first gen b16a with a brand new oem type r oil pump. I installed everything correct with no leaks and full fluids. But when I start it , the engine sounds good untill it starts warming up then the idle starts to fluxuate. If I give it some gas it makes a bad ticking sound. I cleaned out the oil pickup which had minor debris in it but I am stumped as to why my idle is fluxuating, and also why the engine is ticking. I hope to god its not knock.
