Default After my straight pipe install...

I expected to get a check engine light and I did. I have a OBD2 ecu, will a OBD1 ecu turn the light off? I have a 97 GS-R and was wondering what ecu to get.

Yes, an OBD1 ecu will solve your problem. Look for a P72 ecu out of a 94-95 GSR. Don't forget the conversion harness.

If the only reason you're getting the ECU is to eliminate the CEL, I definitely wouldn't bother. It won't cause any problems leaving it as-is.

Ya, just put a strip of electrical tape over the light so you wont have to look at the light.

Me, personally....I would try get rid of the light just in case something serious happens with your motor you wont know if the light is always on.

Just me....
