Default Aem Cam gear problem/Question

Hey,
I have aem true time cam gears on my high comp GSR. I got tuned few months ago 171wh 130 TQ and tuner was going to play with cam gears but noticed that one had a torx bit broken in it and one was a bolt so we didn't mess with them(prev owner must of done this). So now I am going to tune my car again for nitrous since I have everything ready to go and I would like to tune the cam gears as well this time.

I want to replace all the screws. Anyone know off hand what kind I will need? Also what will be the easiest way to get them all off including the one with the broken bit. They all looked a little stripped. Would taking the gears off be the easies route?

Thanks

I would think taking them off is the best thing to do. then replace them.

A lot of us have the small needle nose vise grips that work well on screws. You can sometimes grab the side of the head and use the vise grips like a breaker bar. I would put hex bolts back in.

Don't over tighten them.

I replaced mine with some little allen head bolts from home depot.
theyre stainless and have a bigger(harder to strip) head also...
Some lock washers are also a good idea

I would replace with grade 8 bolts....if you have a dremel or cutoff wheel, you should be able to slot the bolts and use a flathead, do em 1 at a time and you wont have to retime , make sure you stuff arag in between the cover and block to keep chunks of wheel and metal out of the timing belt area
