Default advantages of lighter flywheel?

ok, obviously weight is the enemy in the drivetrain, but have people been known to put down more power just by adding a lighter flywheel (or is it more of a seat-of-the-pants difference)? my plans are to leave my LS stock for now at all costs, and i was thinking of a b16 tranny, CTR crank pulley, radials, etc., and i wanted to know what you guys' opinions are on lighter flywheels. ive always thought that the heavier stock flywheel will help your drivetrain keep momentum (like when youre on slicks) to get you off the line, but it seems like a lot of people are going for the lighter ones. opinions?
