as title states... advantages of close cooling system vs. one with a relief valve (rad. cap)

What's the question? I've never ever seen one without a relief valve in the cap. The only difference is on the European cars (VW, Saab, etc...) the reservoir bottle is pressurized & the cap is on that. WITH a pressure relief valve.
Dirt can get in the Japanese reservoir vent: advantage > European.
Anti-freeze circulates thru reservoir, keeping it fresh: advantage > Eur.
Reservoir is pressurized, heavier, costs $50++ when it breaks: advantage > Jap.

well, for the most part its used when the radiator is not the ighest point in the cooling system... ie it sits low. im not sure how the rad. im getting is going to be mounted yet because it isnt a stock honda piece. so i might need to get one without a rad cap and get a seperate surge tank or whatever for a rad cap
