Default adjusting fuel pressure?

when adjusting fuel pressure with b&m fpr, does the vacuum line have to be removed in order to adjust the pressure? i've been told that i should remove the vacuum line before, but i did it with the vacuum line on, and i didn't notice any problems with it.

tia, spanky
