Aces! another crazy idle thread!
I never got a REAL solution for the idle problems ive been having (94 GSR-T)
WHEN THE CAR IS WARM and I bring the RPMs up in neutral to say like 2,000 RPMs, there is a harsh drop in rpm's to 1700 RPMs and it climbs back up to 2,000 RPMs, this process will repeat.
My boost gauge reads vacuum and it holds a steady 19 lbs of vacuum durring the RPM drop and rise.
No codes are thrown.
what could be the problem?
thanks.

Although the rpms didn't vary as much in my case (+/- 100 or so), my O2 sensor was slow and lazy. It didn't set a code because there was just enough activity from the sensor that the ECU was happy. If you have an air/fuel ratio gauge, or even a voltmeter, you could confirm if the O2 sensor is causing your symptoms. The change in output would follow the rpm changes.
ok here goes on the bottom of your T>B there should be a brass colored cover with 2 8mm bolts ataching it. remove the cover and you will find a large plastic screw inside which you will need to turn clockwise to tighten... try that
ok I will check the TB thing, and i will also consider the o2 sensor. I have a voltameter, where shall i hook it up?
I wont be able to check this till tommorow.

To measure the O2 sensor output, stick a small needle (like a shirt pin) into the white wire from the sensor. Clip one meter lead onto the needle ant the other one to a ground. Once the exhaust heats up, the O2 sensor should start generating voltage. The normal range of output is from 0.2 to 0.9 volts. If the sensor is good, it will swing back and forth across 0.47 volts at least once per second.
