Default Accuracy of the tachs?

How accurate are honda stock tachs? I've heard ppl say that the rpm tach can be far off from actual engine speed. Anyone familar w/ the topic?

And if so, any way to get the tach to be very accurate w/ the actual engine speed? upgrade/replace things?

mine is off by 300 above 5,000 rpm

when my tach reads 8000, my VAFC reads 7600...
