Default AC box behind Glove box

I was wondering if anyone can help me find out how to take that heavy *** thing out from underneath my dash. I have no more AC cause I went turbo and I do realize what I lost on the hot days but also realize the weight savings as well as the breathing room for coolin the engine and turbo stuff. I searched H-T and I couldn't find anything. PICS would be also hugely appreciated. thanks.

What car are you taking it out off ? Usually there are like 3 screws holding it on. Crawl under there and take a peek around.

is that just right behind the glove box?? Is there anything else I need to do besides just pulling it out?

yep, thats all you are going to have to take out. However, you must take out the coils (or whatever its called), and put the surrounding plastic back in the car as an empty shell. If you dont do this, your fan will not blow out your vents in the dash

Its easy to take out, just those few screws and an little wedging

the evaporaor has something like a thick radiator that is surrouned by freon tubing. This is how you get cold air from the AC. the blower blows normal air through the evaporator and cools it (same way a radiator works, but much colder).
If you take out the entire evaporator, the blower will just blow into the passenger side foot well. If you just take out the coils and tubing (it is surrounded by styrophome) and put the black plastic part back in the car, the blower will be able to blow to the vents, because the air is routed by the plastic piece of the evaporator
