wrong size belt shouldnt even fit and yes i can affect cooling if the belt is too big it will slip and may not even allow compressor to cool, dont think its possible for an a/c belt to be too small. whats wrong with your car?

i have a B series swap in my eg. using my sohc ac compressor. i'm using the belt that was on my sohc motor. and i put it on the new motor and the belt fits snug. i have to put the belt tensioner all the way down. it probably has a belt deflection of less than a half an inch. isn't suppost to have a 1 inch deflections?

So what you're saying is the cross-section size of the belt is OK, but maybe it's a bit short? Actually, I thought it should have a deflection of about 1/2 inch, so it sounds like you're barely OK.

If the crankshaft pulley & the compressor pulley need 2 DIFFERENT cross-section size belts, that wouldn't be good.

yeah the belt is short way to short. i was thinking bout getting a new belt for a del sol dohc. yeah the deflection should be 1/2 inch but i can barely press down on it. i think it barely goes down like 5-10mm. i think i have it to tight. belt fits both crank and compressor pulley.
