Default 97' VW jetta gt help

i am wondering what the best aftermarket parts are that i could put in my 2.0.. wondering if i should just drop a new engine, like the h22ar, dont know if it would fit although i would prob have to change my transmission, or the b18, but prob same thing... i really dont know what i can do with it but one thing is for sure its just not fast enough... should i just mod it up, cool-air int. and exauhst, i feel that, that alone wont do much in my 4 door, pls send me sum advice guys.

you want to put a honda engine in a VW? Some people will swear at you, others will applaud, either way, good luck.

if you dont know **** about cars how do you think your going to swap in a motor let alone a motor from another brand of car??

2.0's are a junk motor. Vr6's are the only option for vdub's

the best turbo 2.0's ive seen run 15's

Your knowledge of VW's appears to be rather limited.

For the original poster, assuming you aren't simply attempting to be a troll, you need to elaborate a little about what your goals are for the car, and what your budget is. Also, as another member suggested, check out VWVortex, particulalry the MKIII and 2.0L forums.

Yours may have been a poor specimen, but that doesn't mean the motor itself is deficient. While many people choose to do a VR swap in the MK3 (just as many Honda owners choose to swap a B-series into their Civics), the 2.0 can still be made to perform well is quite reliable with reasonable maintenance.

Look into a 1.8T, they wouldnt cost you nearly what swapping a Honda H22 would, and they respond VERY well to upgrades.

Most likely true, but the 1.8T is still not a simple swap on a MKIII, especially for someone who is not very experienced.
