Default 97 accord IAT sensor

The temp readings from my IAT Sensor are quite a bit higher than the ambient air temperature. Is this simply because of the sensors location in the manifold, or is it malfunctioning? A bench test revealed that at 75 degrees F the sensor has 2.2 Kohms of resistance and at 125 degrees F it drops to 1.0 Kohms...if that helps

Those are normal readings. It would test around the same as temp readings for the coolant temperature sensor. If you pushed it up to 175f it should be around 180-250 ohms.
