94 cx hatch problem--need help PLEASE
car stared 2 times today fine, went into store for 10 min came out wont start. the car wont turn over, it wont jump, its just not fully turning over. it has full tank of gas
possibilites? my friend has had the car for one day--it ran all day yesterday 80 miles or so. checked plugs look fine, mayeb its cap and rotor but i think its a long shot
u think we can pop the clutch and get it started?
i usually know what the deal with hondas are but im stumped? i know its not the battery or starter so what else coud it be?

Hey bro, I had the same problem with my hatch... It sounds like the ignitor inside the distributor. It's what keeps the car running.... it kept dying out on me when I went into stores, but got even worse and would just die out when I was on US1, so I just replaced it. No problems since.
we replaced the cap, rotor and plugs so far
almost certin its electrical....put a screw driver to the end of the pulg wire and got nothing no arc at all
where u from SOHC---us1 and central florida mean u can be too far from me here in cocoa
by ignitor u dont mean the rotor? never replaced that before.......thanks again for the new avenue

anybody know if a D15b8(cx) and a 90crx dx are compatible.............we have a dx crx engine laying around with the parts that work
when you are trying to start it and doesn't turn over, is the flywheel turning?
sounds like a faulty starter solenoid but hard to tell.
need to find out whether it's spark, fuel delivery or turning of the flywheel.

not the starter, i know those problems
damn no spark huh.
stick a screw driver in the spark plug wire and put that about 3 mm from the radiator support and try cranking it.
it's not going to spark with just a screw driver or just the spark plug in there because it's not grounded.
could be the ICM, make sure your dist rotor is securely in there and turning when cranking as well

I have a problem that is somewhat similar-
I'll run the car for a while, turn it off and go inside and come back out to go somewhere again. When I start the car, it starts, revs up to about 2500 then as the idle starts the settle the car dies and won't turn over for about 3-5 min. I first though fuel was a problem, but pressure was there, and fuel pump was fine. I'm going to check ignition next but if anybody knows off the top of their head that would be great.

ICM = ignition control module. it's a little tiny box inside your distributor.
You will have no spark holding up the Spark plug wire with something in there (whether it's a plug or anything because there is no ground).
Get a flat head/philips screw driver, and stick it inside the spark plug wire, then put it about 3 mm to the radiator support and have it cranked to see if you have spark.
That's the best way to go about seeing if you have spark.
