'91 Prelude idle problem woes...!!!
I would like to first thank all those who helped me get through my last round of problems when rebuilding the engine in this car.
All that went OK and now I am experiencing some idling and running problems. When we first started the car it was 'loping' at idle
going from 500 to 1300RPM or so. We checked all the idle circuitry and vacuum lines. No CEL or codes are showing up. We played
with the limited timing adjustment to no avail. With the air intake off I am hearing a loud 'whooshing' sound at the front of the
throttle body. The port at the lower left, about 7o'clock', inside the TB just before the TB plate, is drawing a wicked vacuum that
can be heard over the engine at idle and above. This noise was not there before and now I have no throttle response at all. I
step on the gas and the engine slowly comes alive, I mean slowly as if it was retarded a bunch, but thats not the case.
Are the noise, loping at idle and bad throttle response somehow related???
Are there any other items I should check??
Thanks guys,
Tom and Kyle in PA
