I have a 1991 civic dx hatch and i was wondering if i can put a d16y8 complete engine in it. I know that i can use the engine only and use parts from my original motor. The question i have is what distributor i need, and does the 91si intake manifold fit the d16y8 head. I searched for info but all was not really specific. So any help will be great.

 

You'll have to convert to MPFI first:

Ideally you would want to convert to OBD1 but its not required. Yes your intake manifold will fit and exhaust manifold too. For adding VTEC you'll really want to convert to OBD1 and use a P28 ECU.

 

Cool thanks for the info but I have a D16Y8 Head and which distributor do i need. Will the D16a6 distributor fit on my D16Y8 Head????
