Default 91 Civic Questions

As an olde motorhead I have made it a practice to have both Haynes and Chilton on hand for reference. Neither of them are addressing the following:
1) The breather on the end of the fuel rail. Neither book is identifying it nor telling me how to set it. It's a straight thread with no stop nut, so ...what?
2) Oxygen sensors. Again, both books are only telling me about the one in the manifold and not the second one in front of the cat. The first one has only one wire and the second has four.
More later.
Thanks for stopping by,
Rugger 53

Amazon Amazon

The manuals like these are the most detailed.

As an another old guy, Get a Helms manual and ditch the others. They will NOT provide enough information to complete the task at hand. I speak from experience.

Upon further examination, there are in fact two O2 sensors on my vehicle. One is the "upstream" sensor which is in the manifold, and the other is the "downstream" sensor which is in the pipe ahead of the converter.

Your year car only came with one O2 sensor,a single wire O2 sensor. If you have two O2 sensors and one is a 4 wire O2 you have a motor/ecu that didn't come in that car. Guessing your car is converted to obd1 using a po5,po6,po8,p28 ecu. The only other reason you would have two O2 sensors is one could be a wibeband that runs to an air/fuel gauge.
