A friend of mine has a '91 civic dx auto with some issues. If you take off in drive it won't shift out of first, it just bounces off of the rev limiter and eventually just revs like it's in neutral. If you start with the shifter in first then shift into second, it will go to second, but if you try to shift again it just revs like it's in neutral. Anything I can check for? Or is the transmission toast?
