91 B18A1 Compression Results OK??
hi all:
i just did the compression test on my 98K mile 1991 integra. 190/180/185/180. after I put oil in the cyls it went to 230/225/230/225.
The engine uses a quart in 1000 miles and smokes when it idles for over 5 minutes. I suspect the valve guides/seals.
The question I have is that the first stroke is usually about 90, then builds to the final number over the next 4-5 strokes. With oil the first stroke is 110, then builds to the final number over the next 3-4 strokes. IS this normal? ARE MY RINGS OK??
I am thinking of putting on a B18B1 head with B17 P-61 pistons for more compression. (9.89:1) and Honda rings and gaskets. Comments or suggestions on this appreciated. thanks.
