I want to rebuild my 89 Accord LXi (both engine and transmission). My question for all of you out there is this: how much trouble is this going to be for a novice mechanic such as myself? This will be my first rebuild and first experience with major mechanical work. I've replaced minor stuff such as fuel filters, distributor caps, and general tune-up parts, etc.

Another question I have is about how much am I looking at in terms of parts if I just go with stock rather than performance?
