88 civic hatch check engine light

Trying to figure out how to check the code on my car b16 obd1 ive read about a harness to check it with but i dont have the same one ive seen. No light on the ecu so im a little lost any help will be gladly appreciated

Ground the service check obd1 pin d4 (http://www.phearable.net/images/tech...schematics.gif)

This will flash the MIL.
