85 CRX Carb/idle help
the car will start, usually will go up to 2k rpms then drop down till it stalls unless you press the gas, there is new spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, distributor rotor. we still have to try out cleaning it with a carb cleaner, but idk if the carb gasket isnt sealing, or if it is a vacuum line, i dont see any crack vacuum lines.
Vacuum line is cheap, buy enough to replace all the vacuum lines on the engine, if for no other reason then to eliminate them as the problem, they are over a 1/4 century old, probably need changing anyway.
A propane or butane torch, even a BIC lighter can be used, [do not light] to see if the carb gasket is leaking, "spray" at gasket with engine running, if engie reves up, gasket is leaking.
The carb is 25 years old also, a carb kit and rebuild would not hurt. 94
