750-lb Capacity Engine Stand > D16, B16A
Just thought I'd use a clever thread title to ask this: Will this 750-lb capacity engine stand hold either a D16 or a B16A longblock? I like to plan ahead, and I don't know if I wanna spend the dough on a B16A or stick with a D16Z6 and maybe use the left over cash for a turbo or something...
Anyways, back to the topic at hand. This stand was bought at Advance Auto (yes, I know, not the best quality, but I needed it now for my Mustang 2.3L rebuild (needed a daily driver for work and back, and the car was $37
)), and it is a four-arm H-frame style with a simple pole to rotate it.

Would you trust it with your engine? I kinda assumed that steel is steel, regardless of who molds and welds it together (welds are good), but I've been wrong a few times in my life
so I just want to make sure, ya know? I'd hate for my pride and joy to take the 'big plunge' onto a concrete floor. I'm sure that doesn't sound pleasant

i had my beast of a motor (H22) on a 750 pounder when i was building it. a friggin d16 or b16 prolly only weighs around 200 lbs.
