6speed b series rant...
see. thats the kind of intelligent comments i like to have added in my posts. I was just slightly doped up and dreaming when i started this topic and now i wish i hadnt. These things just get out of control all too often. For the other guy i built my motor like a k as in I was aiming to get as much torque as low as possible as i could without sleeving or other pretty major things so i could keep it pretty drivable and reliable. Like i have said a few times already I WILL have a k someday, just not now. If i could spend 5 grand for a stock k swap complete into my car or buy a 6spd for my b, id buy the trans. I just wish i had that option, sorry for being a dreamer cuz god knows that never got anyone anywhere
. Every thing i ever wanted i gave up on because there was an easier way
no thanks.

you'd have one forward gear(reverse) and six reverse gears.</TD></TR></TABLE>
You'd have six foward gears and one reverse gear.
In a b-series in the foward gears, the input shaft rotates in the same direction as the wheels, now called forwards. The diff rotates in the same direction as the wheels, i.e. forward, i.e. the same direction as the input shaft.
In a k-series, the same thing happens, both the input and the output spin the same direction, and in reverse, the opposite, just the gearbox is on the other side.
If you were to somehow rig it up to the other side on a b-series, you'd still be going forwards in the forward gears, just everything in the box would be spinning the reverse to what it normally does, which i'm sure can't be good for anything

reading Bense's informative post, personally, I 'd go for an Ats 1st gear (3.077), and a Gsr 2nd (1.9) in a B16 tranny. for a DD I'd keep the 4.4 FD, the 4.7 for autocross, maybe for drag. It might not be as plausible in a b16 (just bench racing here
) but I would think it would suit a torkier setup (lsvtec, b20vtec) pretty nice. Great posts, btw, Bense.
