Default 6-speed for B-series ???

Dont get all excited and think I have breaking info. I am just curious as to why this is not readily available?? If anyone is familiar with the VW market, they have the option (through the aftermarket) to change out the internals of their 5spd transmission and make it a six speed. Now it does cost almost 2,ooo$ to do this but if you want it that badly, why not. Where are all the Honda developers at? Any one else have some thoughts on this?

What is quaifes pricing on them? I dont have too much time to look right now, thats why I am asking.
I personally would love to be able to purchase a 6spd setup for my car. I have thought about doing a K swap just for that purpose but I would rather stick with the B just for the amount of aftermarket development that is already out there. Maybe we should start a petition or a strike or something so we can get a cheaper alternative.

I believe the price is somewhere around $10000-$12000. In other words, that K-series swap might not seem so expensive anymore.

The quaife six speed for vw's are $18,000.I didn't see one for b's on there web site.Problem is b's spin backwards compaired to other fwd's.K's spin the same as other fwd's so there are more brands available.

I cant understand why it is sOOO much??!!?!! I swear it to you that through a company called Reiger performance you could buy a 6spd conversion for your MKIV golf/jetta platform for like 1800-2000$ and also a sequential setup for like 2200$!!!!!! Over estimate and call it 5000$ for a sequential six speed!!! I am going back to VW ! J/k.
I looked on the Reiger site yesterday but could not find any info on it. I might have to scan it straight out of the catalog and post it up. Is quaife selling a complete tranny or just the guts? cuz the only thing for the VW was you purchased the internals and swapped them in yourself, but still in the stock housing. It also probably helps that they put actual 6spds on the same engines a few years later.

This is probably it. There really isn't any room in the b-series gearbox for another gear. The k-series 5-speed looks like an excellent candidate for this sort of project, though.. looking at the service diagrams, there is a space for 6th in there.
