5 lug conversion advantages....or are there?
I've got a 92 vx with a complete front and rear VTI(european with a b16a2) del sol brakes and an RS teg master cylinder and booster , thing is my brakes feel good as hell and have never felt spongy or faded on me , this is including high speed autobahn driving and heavy twisty roads too, the brakes really work well , but I was starting to get interested in a 5 lug conv, bigger brakes and a better wheel choice, but now im thinking that besides the astetics of five lugs on a civic the brakes probably would be a little over kill and five lugs isn.t really all that important . Plus I hear that the things are heavy as hell which probably just dont make this mod worth it at all , especially for a weight concious vehicle...please comment guys
If you're after bigger brakes, GSR knuckles can be had for an inexpensive price. This will make your rotors a bit bigger, and allow for more stopping power. The 5 lug conversion is mostly cosmetic, in my opinion. You can always contact Fastbrakes and get a kit from them.
not 100 % but i think the b16 equipped del sol(which is what I got my brakes from ) has the same brakes as the tegs which all use the same brakes
Lack of wheel choice is a disadvanage. If you do it, make sure it's legal. Nothing pisses me off more than an ITR without shoes because of theives and then selling them to people for 5-lug conversions for the looks. It's not worth it IMO.
