4 point harness
Does anybody have 4 point harnesses in their cars? If so how do you mount the lap bolts or more like where do you mount them? Do you drill into the floor or what? Any sugestions or pics would be helpful.
Ok, first of all, harness should not at all be mounted in a car without a rollbar.. If the car flips over, and roof coolapses, your head is now the rollbar..
Second, 4 pt harness is dangerious in several ways, mainly because they do not have a crotch/sub belt. what that does is keep you from actually sliding under the belts in a front in collission...
Also, pain in the *** on the street, can't move, and illegal.. You cannot look over your shoulders properly... Take it for what its worth... Corey...

If you don't have a rollbar, then don't do this mod, unless you think your neck can hold up the roof. Oh, and if you don't mind your guts getting crushed in a front end accident.
5/6 point + bar/cage is the only way to do it.

Hey guys thanks for your replies put your answer have no relevance to my question. I am wanting to know about mounting the lap belts not the shoulder belts. Also if the submarine belt was so important then why dosent the stock seat belt have one?
is the autopower 4 point bolt in any good? Thats a good question, where do the lap bolts go?I know the shoulders go to the roll bar as for the lap bolts??

On the point of 3/4 point harness belts, they are not illegal for street use, but if you are in a major front end accident, you might end up sinking down in the seat due to the belts.

You want to make the lap belt as low as possible on your body to eliminate Submarine problems during a collision. You may have to either make custom mounts, or ??? Just make sure that the belts are more than secure. You don't want to trust your life to a couple of Home Depot nuts and bolts do you??

What i dont understand here is why nobody will answer the question. All that i want to know is where do people mount the lap belts of their harness. You guys tell me its not safe with out a roll cage. Did i say i didnt have a roll cage? I want to know about the lap belts. That is all. Not everyones opinion about whether i should have a harness without a roll cage. So here is my new question. I have a roll cage in my civic and want to install a harness. How should i mount the lap belts to the floor? Drill holes, some welding?

Why the hell would you want to use a 4 point harness if you have a cage?
4 point harnesses are useless. In fact, they are more than useless. There isn't a sanctioning body in the world that will let you run 4 pointers, BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT SAFE. That's why they don't have any safety ratings either. Not DOT, not TUV, and certainly not FIA or SFI.
In a production car, the sub belt isn't needed to keep you from submarining, it's to keep the lap belts from riding up. If your lap belts are not across your lap, and you get into an accident, then belts crush your guts into your spine. Without a sub belt, it is not possible to keep your lap belts low. I know, I have 2 cars with harnesses and cages.
