3rd. Gear grind?
Last night we got a few inches of snow so I thought it would be fun to go do some snow drifting. It turns out drifting ur stock DA is not so good on the drivetrain. I am going to park my car on x-mas and pull the tranny. When I get back from x-mas break I am going to rebuild my tranny at school. My question is, "What can I do to prevent this problem from getting worse." It only grinds going into 3rd from about 3k up. Will driving it like a granny prolong the tranny or is it going to break either way. My other question is "What is causing this to grind, I assume it's the snycros but im not sure." My buddys d-series was doing this in 3rd and then 4th and now he is pulling the tranny as I speak. I would really appreciate any logical replys. Thanks
Dude, chill the expletive out first of all, sry im not a noob that has 22hours a day to search for everything but what I need to know. Second of all I wanted to know is how can I prevent destroying a 500 dollar tranny. I live in Maine and I can't afford another tranny, they are very scarce up here. All I am asking for is what its gonna take to make this tranny last a little longer.
[QUOTE=.EnzoSpeed]Are you for real? There are ten thousand hundred billion archived threads about 3rd gear grinding. First of all, unless you have x-ray vision, you won't be able to determine what's wrong.QUOTE]
