hey wussup people..im new to this site and new to swaps so just bare with me.i got a 95 civic hatch and i dropped a 95 Ls motor with hydro tranny.but here is the bad part.my second gear started to grind on the 3rd day i drove it.everything was working like a beauty until that day.every other gear works except for 2nd and they go in smooth.so i have to skip 2nd gear and jus go to third gear.so i took it to a tranny shop and this guy told me that its not my syncros its mostly my shift linkage because they dont match up. and ive been told it is my syncros which i agree on too.so basically im seeing if anyone knows what the real problem is or if anyone had any kind of experience with the same and what they did to fix it.so please let me know.thanks

Very rare a shift linkage will cause a certain gear to grind. If you take your car to a "Joe Shmoe" that really doesnt understand that these motors actually fit in these cars,than thats the response youll probally get. Id bet thats its the 2nd gear syncro sleeve. Take it to an import shop that deals with trans rebuilds for a better diag.

also make sure that you have the proper oil in the transmission.do not use gear oil.it should be motor oil.like 10-40w

 

10-40W OR DO YOU MEAN 10W-40 JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE.

 

any time my gears have ever started to grind i put redline oil in and it will usually quiet or elminate everything
