Default 2000 Si throttle response..

i wanted to know if i could tighten my throttle cable to get a better throttle response and possibly a little more pull in my lower powerband, like (1000-3000rpm). if this would work please let me know, or if not, i would apreciate any sugestions as to what i could do to get a little more torque out of my Si..

will a 4-1 header really take away that much of my low end?

i dont know if tightening it up will help, but a 4-1 header can really loose some torque in the early rpms. you could get a 4-2-1 and do other stuff like dont get too big of piping with any exhaust you get, even 2 1/4 is too big sometimes. also you can loose some torque with too big intake piping. if you have 3in intake piping that may be too big, the 2 14 in from aem is really the best.

No.

Tightening the throttle cable will only help a little bit.
A larger throttle body and a light weight flywheel are needed for real throttle response.

More torque = forced induction.

Wrong. Bigger = better.
Tests have shown that performance continues to increase the larger you get in both intake and exhaust.
3 inch was the largest tested and it provided the most power. by 2 whp over the 2.5 inch

well i want a new header, but i want a 4-1 header, because i like hitting harder up high.. what i really want to know is what i can get that will just give me a little power, and it looks like the throttle cable will hepl me out just a little bit. where can i find a good deal on a light weight flywheel? i alreayd have an apexi n1 with 2 1/4 inch piping and the basic aem cai with the regular piping (not the v2).. so i guess im ok there

yes that is true but if you look at any of the dyno sheets that they provide, you can see that that hp and torque gain was toward the top of the power band like 4500- 5500rpm. and he said he wanted more torque like 1000-3000rpm.

I dont think a 4-1 header will lose any low end power. It doesn't increase low end torque, but I dont think you lose any. You just gain in top end.

I'd reccommend 2.38 piping because 2.25 is a little too small.
