are there any differences between a 1st gen and 99-00 b16a throttlebody?

are there any consequences for putting a tb with a smaller mm onto an intake manifold with a bigger mm?

for example - would putting on a b16 throttle body on an type-r/skunk2 intake manifold cause any damages? of course it's not ideal, but is it ok?

You can put any size TB on anysize Mani. w/ no problems (within reason, of course). For the best performance though I suggest having them bore-matched.

by chance do u know the difference between the 1st gen b16 throttle body and a 99-00?

 

If I remember right the 99-00 has the map sensor on the throttle, where as the 1st gen put it on the firewall.
