1992 civic cx hb

I am having issues with my door lock. Ill try to explain my issues.

Issue #1
The only way to open the door is to put the key in the lock, turn the key, and then pull the handle while the key is still turned . This opens the door but it still doesn't leave my car unlocked.

Issue #2
While the door is OPEN, I can put into manual unlock and lock position with no issues, but when the door is CLOSED it will not unlock. So basically if the door is closed and locked then the manual lock switch does not work and I'm locked in.

I'm assuming when my door is closed, it is putting pressure somewhere causing this issue. I am also assuming if I fix issue #1 then it may fix issue #2 or vice versa.

I would pull the door panel and inspect all the linkage, your most likely correct, something is binding when latch is closed.

Will it also bind if the door is open but latch has been closed, [use a screwdriver to close the latch]? 94
