Default 1990 civc DX check engine light

What up guys,
I have a problem with my civic, I just replaced the spark plugs, and air filter but a day after that I got pissed b/c some jerk cut me off and I pushed the gas to the floor and dropped into 2nd to pass her....well a few blocks after that anger issue, the check engine light came on. The car runs great but the CEL is really annoying and I am afraid I did something wrong. Any suggestions or ideas....I do not have access to a OBD1 scanner....please advise...thanks!
(the light comes on periodcally and turns off with the car and comes on after a few minutes of warming up, but does not happen all the time)
Possibles i already thought of but not tried:
-needs oil change
-O2 sensor
-Fuel Filter
-New wires for plugs
Again have not tried these yet, but oil change is happening this weekend....

Thanks guys and gals
CJ
