Default 12's w/an ls-vtec

whats the cheapest way to get into mid 12's or lower with a full interior (hatch) with an ls-vtec....any help is needed...i dont think basic bolt on's will do the job...maybe cams, tuning, i/h/e cam gears, titanium valve springs...maybe hondata s200 system, some slicks, anything else or am i cool with that......?

Compression via pistons if you are staying n/a which I am guessing you want to do. Do you want to open up the motor and mess with internals or no?

Well.... PCT pistons and Skunk stage 1 would be nice. Titanium valve springs?? HOndata? I/H/E??? All this would cost you a couple G's. I thought you said
"cheapest" didnt you?

Nitrous on a good condition motor is the best and cheapest way to get to lower numbers, but i'm not sure about throwing a good bit of extra stress on a ls/vtec...

If you want cheap, forget all motor. Drop in some forged internals (800), put a doweled block girdle on (300) , and spray a 125+ shot (500). That should put you close to 300 whp. Also if you are using the ls tranny, swap out 3rd and 4th gear for the b16's. If you do the labor yourself that'll be around 280.00ish for the gears.

Preferable would be forged internals and the junkyard turbo setup. 270 whp would be easy.

I don't believe that will do it, unless you bore or increase compression with it.

i build lsvtec or gsr, and type r that run mid to low 12s all the time. whatever your prefferance is. you dont need ctr pistons to achieve those times but it will definetly help. I had a customers car (civic eg) running a stock type r block and runs 12.4@109mph on slicks full body. just my complete top end, fpr, jun cams, and 7 passes on the dyno. this was done with 91 octane.

also have a lsvtec civic eg that runs 12.6@107mph with a stage 1 block with itr pistons, full headwork, jun cams, fpr, jg headers, cam gears set at zero.

CHEAP and FAST dont belong in the same sentence..... i just used it in the same sentence! not tryin to be a ***** but 12's is going to cost a bit..Especially if you wanna be greedy with your interior...and theres no way your gonna do that with street tires on full interior...!

NOVA low 12s isnt as easy as people think, in the street class at the local drag circuit MIR, VIR, and "that one track in NJ" im 99.9% sure an allmotor street car hasnt broken 12 secs yet and gotten into the 11 range...

LS/VTEC
P30 pistons, oversize
B16 head w/ portflow
Portflow inners, ITR outers, tit. retainers
Skunk Stage II cams w/ cam gears
ITR intake manifold
adj. fuel press
SMS header or a cheaper alt w/ a bit less flow(HP) JG header with 2.5" collecter (16hp over ITR header though)
run 2.5" pipe all the way back (or 60mm mandrel bent) through an ES 2.5" muffler (no need to unbolt this at the track)
64mm throttlebody
Clutchmasters Satge 4 clutch and CM flywheel
at least a B16 tranny
chipped P28 w/mugen program for cheap or Hondata if you actually want to get good gas mileage!
iceman race intake (the one that works w/no headlight)
NO A/C, NO P/S
22x8x13 on Bogart or Lenso wheels

dyno it and it will make over 200whp on pump gas and if you can drive, you should be able to run mid-high 12's w/ full interior...at a sea-level track of course

You want to run full interior..at least take out the spare tire and of course...don't run a full tank of gas! lol
