1.5 12 Valve idle adjustment?
My 84 CRX has the 1.5 12 Valve engine.
It had the old hunting/surging problem, but today I made some headway.
I cleaned the idle control valve, made sure the water was getting to the idle valve, sprayed loads of carb cleaner down the TB, bled the water system 4 times, changed the ecu and it stabilised at 1500rpm.
Now in the mouth of the TB is a angular hole that looks like it goes to the throttle position sensor. if I block or partially block that the idle drops.
So I took that off made sure it moved freely and gave it a squirt of cleaner reassembled and it still idles at 1500rpm. Its steady so thats something!
Has anyone know how to trim the idle down to 950rpm?
I can't find a screw on the Tb like on some other cars.
Has it something to do with the idle valve? Do I need to adjust the large screw peice? If so which way and is it a case of trial and error??
Any ideas?
Many Thanks
