I just bought an 2002 Accord v6 about a week ago. The first time I filled up the gas tank, the gas pump automatically cut off and I figured the gas tank was full. When I got in the car, the gas gauge only registered 3/4ths full. I thought this was a fluke and the gas pump cut off prematurely. However, last night when I filled up again, I made sure the gas tank would really not hold any more gas but the gauge still said 3/4ths full. Any ideas what could be causing this? Bad sensors? Bad fuel gauge? etc?

 

Usually a bad sending unit. I can probably dig up some resistance specs if you want to test it.
