Default 01 crv wiring probablems, help please!!

k so i have a 2001 crv ex, i was leaving work friday night and when i turned my head lights on my gauge cluster lights and all of the isturment pannel lights were off, i checked the fuse for the insturment lights and sure enough it was blown, so i replaced it and all was good, they worked fine on saturday and then sunday night i was once again leaving work and sure enough the fuse blew again so now im guessing ive got some faulty wiring going on, i have replaced my stock radio with a double din but that is the only thing that i have done to mess with any kind of wires in the dash, everything else is stock and has been untouched so im wondering if there are any kind of known probablems with the crv insturments lights, if anyone has some ideas or sugestions i would greatly appreciate the help

if you haven't touched anything, then your wire for the illumination at the back of the radio is most likely grounding out

u could have burned out the clock or the dimmer. I've seen people burn up entire harnesses by leaving that illumination(orange wire) on the aftermarket radio plugs bare.

Check and see if there is a red wire for illumination at the stock radio plug, the red/black is illumination power and red is illumination ground from the "Dash Lights Brightness controller" if the aftermarket HU does not have an illumination lead, [orange or orange/white] the red/black is not needed, cap it off, the red illumination ground is never needed with aftermarket HU, make sure is is capped off.

The clock will have the red/black illumination power but not the red illumination ground, the red/black is actually not illumination for the clock it is used to dim the readout at night, the numbers are "illuminated" [turned on] but the 12V ign. lead that goes to the clock, make sure there is no power on the red/black at the clock when the park/head lights are off and make sure there is 12.5V on both the clocks accessory and constant power leads, [when ign. switch is on]. 94

k so i pulled the radio out again and just cut the illumination wire and the dimmer wire on my aftermarket radio plugs, i used electrical tape and taped up the ends of those wires to prevent any further contact with any metal and everything is working good after replacing the fuse and its been 3 days now with no further probablems, thanks everyone for all the help
