Default 00 Si Major Problems Need Answers!

My car will just completly shut off at 40mph completly while i am in gear so i have to push the clutch in and restart the car as i am goin 40mph down a street. The check engine light has been on for countless months but was told its just a sensor and nobody wants to work on my car since it has V-AFC. The controller will just randomly short out and flash on the screen. The idle speed hits like 1200 and slowly moves its way down to 800 and remains their. Have been told the car is running to rich but not sure if that is it please help!

First, ask yourself WHEN did this start happening? Was it after the VAFC install?

I bought the car with the V-Afc on it, but it is always shorting out. If i took out the V-AFC they said i would have to buy a whole new ECU cause it messes up your old one when u take it off. I have tried taking it off but the car runs horrible and revs at idle from 800 to 1300.

Have you tried to contact the manufacturer? My guess is they can give you some advice on the problem, even though you are not the original purchaser. As far as screwing up the ECU, who told you that? Sounds like BS to me. Did you try pulling the fuse on the ECU to reset the memory? There is also a good chance the wiring is the problem. Check each connection and follow the wires from there looking for a short.

I had a Jet V-force on my GSR and had random check engine lights and occasional stumbles. I disconnected it and reset the computer and it's been fine ever since.
