Default "normal" oil temperature

Am just enquiring as to what my "normal" operating oil temp should be.

at the moment when running around town or on the highway it reads 210 degrees F.

I have one of these block adaptors so the sensor is right where the oil filter goes...

Is this a normal reading?

Typically oil temp should be about 15* more than the water temp in the pan.Its hard to compare temps anywhere else in the system. At about 300* most oils rapidly loose their lubricating qualities.

hmm in that case it would seem a bit hot as my water sits at around 185ish...
but oil in the pan would be a tad cooler then where I am getting my reading from I would guess..
