Re: (Civic97s)
tein is a good company but the ss and basic both suck. i had the ss on my 94 hatch, so i speak from experience.
the basic does not allow the damping force to be adjusted. thats kind of important.
the ss is adjustable, but both of these come with weak springs that are not aggressive enough for racing. if you could get the ss with custom spring rates then maybe it would be worth while, but it would cost more and you might as well get the tein flex.
the dampers on the ss are really good and when you adjust them, you can feel a dramatic difference. but again, the springs are too soft. i was riding on bump stops in hard corners. to be fair, i should mention that i could take 90 degree turns really fast, and it felt good, but any sustained turning around an extended corner resulted in me spining out as soon as i hit any little imperfection in the road.
in my opinion the flex should be the entry level model, and the ss and basics are really just for looks.
if i had to do it all over again, i would get relativley stiff eibach springs and konis or tocikos. and some sway bars.
trust me, tein doesnt get good until you hit the flex or higher models

Dude, save the hero driving for the track - spinning out on the street is stupid.

Re: (Mr.E.G.)
Maybe I`m too late but TEIN Basic realy suck ... I just bought new ones for my ITR because I was told they will be great for daily drive also getting a bit of performance. The problem is that they are worse than stock ones... The front of the car bouces as hell. Actualy you can`t use coils included in the kit because the manual sais that they should be adjusted to 25mm height (Highest point of the coil). That means that I have spent my money for stock "LOVE MACHINE" ride.
