Default suspension setup question.

I run kyb AGX struts with H&R springs. I use 14" steelies and run a nittro 555r 205/50/14 tire. No matter what I did, I could not brake a 2.1 60ft. But i hear of other guys using the same tires and doing 1.8 and 1.9 on them. How are thses guys doing that? I'd liek to know because I am wondering what changes i need to make (asside from better axels) to run a 1.8 time on these tires and get some traction. right now i spend most of 1st,half of second, 3and 4th ping a moment when going in to gears. I'd liek to cut that down so i get better traction. if I can i think I can get drop a second of my time. that woudl put me into the 11.5 range consistantly with a few dips into the low 11 ranges.

I noticed you didn't post this in the Drag Racing forum.

How consistently can you cut 2.1 60's? The problem may not be with the car at all, you might just need more practice. That would be the easiest starting point. DId the NOPI people recommend you any tire pressures? That is the cheapest starting point (lower the fronts and/or raise the rears, you want to keep as much of the traction on the fronts as possible). Can you adjust the height on your suspension? If so, try raising the rear up and lower the front to keep more load on the fronts and reduce squat during the launch. Do those 9 people at NOPI have traction bars and engine mounts? Those can produce dramatic improvements for drag racing.

no they never offered any info which was kinda strange to me, they jsut laughed as if it were funny. (not nopi officials just people out there)

here's what I have and did.
have:
front is 1.5" lower than the rear and you can visually see it.
nitto 555r 205 tires
full engine mount setup(upper and lower eurthane). Every peice of rubber on that car was replaced. No rubber in any parts or mounts.

dids:
tried 17psi tire pressure all the way down to 11psi tire pressure. (got best results at 13-14 psi)

i adjusted the front suspension from #1-#4 nothing changed with adjustments.

i ran consistant 2.1-2.2 only time i didn't was when i broke the axel.
I tried launching at 3k-4500 rpm ranges. best restuls were 4100-4250.

Don't have:
traction bars

I didn;t psot in Drag Racing because i thought this was a suspension issue. I want to thank you for takign the time to offer some help. I'm really honestly looking for help so Thank you very much!

consistency doesn't=doing this the correct way.

I have seen a lot of people turn very consistent laps but they weren't doing things the correct way. They were doing things the wrong way every time.

I am certainly no drag racer, but we do, do stand starts and i always kill people who out qualify me.

IMO you are probably launching to high of an RPM. My car had about 100whp and i would launch at 2000-2500rmps no bogging and little issue with tire spinning. In fact i would even have to feather the throttle some times.

If you are just reving to 4,xxx RMPS, dumping the clutch and keeping the pedal mashed, IMO your doing it wrong.
