How many miles do you have on your vehicle? What year is it? Is it lowered? Check all boots. Replace as necessary. I had a problem on my 2000 Civic (d16y7) that I wanted to troubleshoot, but never got around to it. Every now and then, upon abrupt acceleration it would "clunk" a little bit. I suspected it was the transmission. I recently did a suspension overhaul and also replaced my driveshafts with new units, despite the CV boots still looking in decent condition after 98,xxx miles. The problem seems to have been resolved. I checked the shafts for any torsional slack by hand and it seems there was a little play, that seemed the most likely source of the problem.

'94, 180000 on the odometer. bought it 2 years ago with around 17000. my car also makes a clunk noise when accelarating or decelarating. I'm want to do a overhaul but not hte entire energy suspension kit. I recently changed the axles, just to change them and found that it snapped the inner boot assembly.
