So my problem is... when i drive around my car gets VERY sluggish. Like il be in second gear and it will be as if i was in 5th. The brakes get very hard like if the car was off and you push them a few times. I hear a few suggestions from alot of people. Also im new to doing anything with cars so please dont make my head explode with words that i dont understand.

 

Ok well, is your Check Engine light on?

As for the brakes, your pedal is hard all the time? Shut the car off. Pump up the brake pedal until it goes rock hard. Let while holding it down, start the engine. If the pedal doesn't sink at all, your brake booster is bad, or you have a bad check valve between the booster and the intake manifold.

 

Well if the car is sluggish and he has weak braking power, then that would mean he has weak manifold pressure due to some issue with the engine.

 

the light isnt on but i also dont know if the bulb is out or not. and no its not stiff all the time. only random times.

 

The light should come on temporarily when you switch on the ignition and stay illuminated if you don't crank the engine.
