Default Question about adjustable struts

With Tokico illumina shocks. if you set the rears to 5 which is the stiffest setting. does that make it harder for the springs in the rear harder to compress? or does it just mean the strut will absorb more shock before you feel it?

AFAIK, a single-way adjustable damper will adjust rebound. Stiffer rebound valving will make the damper more resistant to the extension of the spring, while softer will make it easier for the spring to extend.
Conversely, stiffer compression valving will make the damper more resistant to being compressed, while softer will make the damper easier to compress.

Do the coils go over the shock? You got a coilover A Note for reference: A full coilover system (where the springs and damper are sold in a set, pre-assembled) does not automatically mean that the dampers are properly valved to handle the spring rates, and/or that the springs are sufficient for the valving. There's nothing that says a seperate spring and shock combination cannot perform as well as a full coilover kit; it depends on how well each component is manufactured and how well they are paired together. Keep that in mind when shopping around and doing your homework.
AFAIK those that you have will be rebound adjutstable only. The same principles apply.

You wouldnt happn to know if the omni coil overs are a good match for illumina struts would you? they are 448 front 336 rear.
